Tennessee Marker, Z-128
First permanently settled in 1769 and long a part of North Carolina. In 1785, settlers formed the state of Franklin, not recognized by Congress. Tennessee was admitted to the Union as the sixteenth state in 1796.

Physical Description of Location: Blackwater, VA 24221. Located on Trail of the Lonesome Pine (Rt. 70), 1.75 miles south of the junction of Trail of the Lonesome Pine (Rt. 70) and State Road 610. Marker is on the left when traveling south on Trail of the Lonesome Pine (Rt. 70).
